What We Believe

The Fall of Man

We believe that Adam and Eve, were created in the image of God; but they disobeyed God and became sinners. (Genesis 1:27).  Through Adam, all people inherited sin’s nature and consequences, and all are in need of a Redeemer (Genesis 3:9-13).

The Plan of Redemption

We believe that Christ died for all of us while we were still sinners; He took the punishment for our sin. With His own blood, He purchased salvation and redemption for all who believe in Him (John 3:16; Titus 2:14).

Salvation

We believe that salvation is the gift of God given by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We embrace the scriptures that read, “a man must be born of the water and spirit” (John 3:5) and that this faith is manifested in works pleasing to God.  (John 3:1-13)

Ordinances of the Church

We believe that the ordinances of the church, by the command of Christ, are Water Baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper, both of which are administered to those who are born again. (1 Corinthian 11:23-26)

Repentance and Acceptance

We believe that, when people repent for their sins and accept Christ, they are justified through Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross. To repent means to be sorry for sins, but it also means to turn away from a sinful lifestyle. Accepting Christ means believing in Him as the only Savior. To be justified means being declared “not guilty” in regard to sin (Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9).

Born Again

We believe that a change takes place in people’s lives when they are “born again”. They receive righteousness through Jesus Christ, and they are empowered by the Holy Spirit; therefore, they should have new desires, interests and pursuits (John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

Eternity

We believe in the eternal salvation of the believers and in the eternal damnation and punishment of the nonbelievers. We believe that the consummation of all things includes the visible, personal and glorious return of Jesus Christ the "Blessed Hope" of the Church.
